British Cables Company (BCC) is a cable manufacturer and supplier based in Blackley, Manchester. As a leading UK cable manufacturer providing products to crucial infrastructure across the country for over 120 years, BCC has always been firmly rooted in tradition, including a preference for offline marketing and sales.
In 2022, BCC came to Blue Frontier seeking a digital agency to help them modernise, by increasing their brand awareness and online presence through organic social media strategy and management. The services Blue Frontier provide have since extended to graphic & print media design, paid ads, video production, and more.

Delivering a social media strategy to stand out in the sector
Blue Frontier began work with British Cables Company by conducting a social media audit and strategy. This work involved looking at BCC’s competitors, their wider industry trends, and their current performance to develop a data-driven plan for improvement. With this strategy in place there was a clear direction for moving forward, beginning with organic social media posting and expansion onto new social platforms.
The strategy created highlighted that it was important to share BCC’s unique history and heritage whilst also conveying their commitment to quality products, as well as showcasing their brand personality. The content recommended off the back of this strategy aimed to capture attention, whilst educating target audiences on the manufacturing process and the differences between what can often be complex products. The ultimate aim was to increase brand awareness and grow BCC’s following across multiple social platforms.
This strategy, which sought to help BCC stand out in their industry by showcasing more of their personality on social media, has since been carried out by Blue Frontier’s social media specialists. With regular reviews and strategic revisions, BCC’s social strategy consistently stays ahead of the competition.
Having started with little-to-no social media presence, British Cables Company are now active on all major platforms including TikTok, where a new audience niche has been tapped into. Blue Frontier continue to successfully manage organic social media alongside social ads and other services for BCC. By crafting compelling and shareable content, BCC have not only seen an increase in their number of followers, but are also achieving consistently higher levels of engagement each month.
