Delivering inclusivity and compliancy
Our accessibility testing ensures your software or website meets the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards, accommodating users with a range of disabilities. We test for alignment with A, AA, and AAA levels to deliver a user experience that’s accessible to all—boosting both usability and compliance.
As a G-Cloud supplier, we’re used to web accessibility being a mandatory requirement for many of our clients’ websites. Especially in the public sector and banking, it’s essential that disabilities are accommodated for in the design and usability of these websites. People who should be considered in web accessibility include those with blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, learning disabilities, or cognitive limitations.

Accessibility audits for WCAG
A website accessibility audit is essential in ensuring organisations are complying with WCAG standards. Finding an accessibility testing company and testing partner that you can trust is crucial in ensuring your end product is compliant. Here at Blue Frontier, our methodical approach and attention to detail will ensure a user-inclusive end result.
Although automated accessibility testing tools are useful, they play a supporting role in helping us align websites to WCAG standards. As part of our service, we design and include manual user accessibility tests to identify genuine defects. By combining the two approaches in an accessibility audit, we’re then able to thoroughly explore the design and compile an accurate detailed final report and list of recommendations.
Our process
Our accessibility testing process has been refined to ensure WCAG guidelines are considered at every stage.
01
Define accessibility needs
We assess your target audience and outline the specific accessibility standards required for your project, from A to AAA compliance.

02
Automated and manual testing
Using a combination of industry-leading tools and manual audits, we test accessibility both automatically and manually across critical areas, such as keyboard navigation, contrast checks, and multimedia accessibility.

03
Accessibility defects review
We identify issues that hinder usability for those with disabilities and provide recommendations for addressing each defect. We will ensure our recommendations also align with the WCAG requirements you need, addressing any areas that are not to the required standard.

04
Report and recommendations
You’ll receive a detailed report outlining the accessibility barriers found and strategies to improve them. From here, if required, Blue Frontier's team of dedicated developers and designers can support in carrying out the recommended accessibility improvement strategies.

05
Final verification
Once changes are made and retested, we verify the product meets all accessibility guidelines before it’s deployed so you can be assured that it meets all accessibility needs for your users and industry requirements from Day 1.

Accessibility testing areas
Accessibility testing ensures your website or software is accessible to all users, regardless of physical ability, leading to a more inclusive experience and helping you meet legal compliance standards.
We test across all required areas of accessibility, including:
We test if a website can be navigated via the keyboard for those without the required dexterity to use a mouse.
We run a colour contrast check and flag issues where insufficient contrast in colour between the foreground and background for both text and images are not suitable for colour-blind users.
We check if a website is responsive to ensure page zoom features have no adverse effects on text or images for those with a visual impairment.
We identify if multimedia has controls in place to pause and play functions and ensure flashing images is minimal to users with cognitive conditions such as epilepsy.
We assess if content is presented in a logical and clear manner with graphical icons for users with cognitive conditions such as dyslexia.
We review if those with hearing impairment are able to access multimedia content via a text-based alternative.
