Meet Nick
Video & Photography Specialist
Nick’s background is rooted in both photography and video. As a freelancer in the industry, he’s contributed images to Canon, London Zoo, IBM, Gu Desserts, Somerset and Hampshire Councils, Frank Bruno, and numerous restaurants. He has also sold images for public display and print and online publication.
In video, he has worked for Portsmouth Football Club, The National Federation of Retail Newsagents, Boots, Premier and Noble Foods, McColls, and IBM. He was with IBM for 16 years, creating marketing materials and travelling extensively around Asia, America, and Europe. He’s also worked as Editor and DP on TV ads for Explore Travel and Trevor Mitchel Salons.
He is part of a team creating video and photography for Blue Frontier as well as its many clients. Work covers areas as diverse as marketing videos, reels, events, company headshots, product shots, infomercials, and training videos.
Nick is curious, welcoming, and respectful of other people’s ideas and cultures.
When I joined the company, there were 7 of us in Digital, and now there are over 20! I’ve seen up close the transformation of a company from 45 employees to its present size – still growing - and I feel lucky to be a part of that story. The other benefit is working with a group of people who are intelligent, fully committed to a project, and willing to put the hard yards in. Additionally, the breadth and knowledge from all my colleagues is genuinely eye-opening.
I get involved in the planning and execution of a project, from shaping the brief, being involved in the shoots, and liaising with designers and other actors in the eventual outcome of a project.
Ask most people in the company and they’ll hopefully tell you I’m passionate about the environment. I love all aspects of nature and I enjoy documenting it. So, to be a part of something that brings benefits to all of us is my goal. After that, I absolutely love portrait and food photography. Both require a different approach. Portrait photography encapsulates the essence of what makes a great photographer, using light and shadow and bringing out the best in a person, whereas food photography is about making dishes look sumptuous and using strobe to create natural realistic lighting.
I enjoy travel, writing, taking photographs, making videos, watching films, and catching up on industry trends.
