How we achieved this
We undertook full research of the Volt-Age website and the EV hire market to complete a competitor analysis to grasp an understanding of the market landscape. With the site built using the Squarespace CMS, we looked into the capabilities of the platform from an SEO perspective and established how best to optimise the website for both users and search engines. This insight allowed us to suggest an ongoing digital plan to move forwards with, and to implement each month during the allocated SEO time.
As with all SEO contracts, we set up the monitoring for website goals and analytics, as well as keyword performance in order to track the progress of our work. On a continual basis, our team run technical SEO crawls on the website to flag any outstanding issues such as broken links, redirects and meta data issues. Resolving these issues ensures the website remains healthy from a SEO perspective and optimised for search engines and users.
The challenges we faced
With Volt-Age using a CMS such as Squarespace, there are some limitations placed on the ability of the SEO team to optimise the website from a technical standpoint, with limited options when it comes to site speed and core web vitals.
Other challenges include competition for search terms as a number of established car hire companies move into the EV hire market, as well as other new brands entering the market for short term hire.
The obvious other challenge has been navigating the Covid pandemic, with offices forced to close across the country during the mandatory lockdowns, we naturally saw a drop-off in car hire interest during this period.
