Test Analyst at Blue Frontier

Debbie joined Blue Frontier in 2021 after working for a few years in different industries as a test analyst. Before becoming a tester, she spent many years working on various engineering projects in different roles from technical assistant to software engineer.

As our team SME for WCAG Accessibility, Debbie uses her knowledge of accessibility best practices to inform her role as a Test Analyst, creating and executing manual tests on a variety of different projects to verify the product is fit for purpose whilst adhering to the company standards and test strategies.

Debbie’s past experience as a developer helps her provide the right information to allow any defects to be solved easily by the design or development team. She has a very analytical mindset and is always keen to learn allowing her to test in a variety of ways.

What are your favourite things about Blue Frontier?

My favourite thing about working at Blue Frontier is the variety of different colleagues within the company and the fabulous camaraderie between them all. The clients are also from different industries providing a variety of types of projects and opportunities.

What does your Blue Frontier role involve?

My role involves testing various web related products to ensure requirements are met satisfactorily and iron out any design flaws. This is mainly done manually checking the products function correctly on different platforms to ensure the user experience is smooth.

What would your dream project be?

My dream project would be anything to do with travel, history, nature or anything that would provide a good challenge to increase my knowledge and skills. As I am partially deaf, I would be interested in a project related to helping people with hearing loss.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I like to research my family history. I very much love to walk/explore the many trails of the countryside and experience the natural beauty around us. I also enjoy travelling to different countries to learn different cultures, histories and landscapes they have to offer.
